The Bible states we are souls Where as Greek philosophy states "soul" is separate and put into a being

At Gen 2:
(HSCB)
6 But water would come out of the ground and water the entire surface of the land. 7 Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground (G) and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, (H) and the man became a living being. (I)

King James
7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul

Living Translation
7 Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

There is no where to be found in the Bible that indicates that the body or being is a sparate entity from the soul(breather) At Gen. 1: fish, animals, birds are living souls, nothing separate in their bodies is injected to make their body different from them as a living soul. The idea of a soul being separate from the person can be easily traced to ancient Bablylon.

yes we all have a soul and spirit as well as the physical body. there was a Cherokee Shaman who explained this situation thus when She spoke at our Church. we are spirits having a physical experience not a physical being having a search for a spiritual experience. when the agenda we agreed to do is done we will leave the physical body ( container ) behind to return to Mother Earth. the Soul will return to THE GREAT MYSTERY and our Spirit will remain behind on this plane of existence as the memory of who we were in the minds of those who knew us.

Sure do! Coming from an athiest, I've kinda really stuck my neck out - believing that souls are not exclusively the property of Christians.

Yes, I am a soul in a casing that is called the body. My spirit has been born into my body because my spirit was originally dead but because I have chosen the Way it now lives.

There are 2 ways to live, one with a dead spirit and the other with a spirit that has been given life.

Your soul is the foundation of your beliefs and behavior. Do you have a good soul, or bad soul....common expression is, "he/she has an evil soul". It is said because that person actions are evil. If a person does good deeds and actions are good, they have a good soul.

So yes, I have a soul, but it's a little wishy washy, sometimes I'm good and other times I'm bad. But my true, deep soul, is good.

By soul I assume you mean a vital and spiritual force that is regarded as immortal and the center of thought, action and emotion. The ancient Romans referred to it as "anima" (from which we get our words "animate" and "animal").

I believe that to deny your own soul is the abyss of absolute despair. My answer is yes. I can believe in no other way.

However, I do not have "soul". This is apparent from my horrible sense of rhythm. :)
