i think you should put the racing part performance in it,or just change the transmission to manual and use the racing transmission.

Tires are, without a doubt, the most important part of your 1/4 mile run. Your ET at the end of your run really depends on what your 60ft time is going to be. If you have a lot of wheel spin you should look into the drag radials from BFG and Nitto. They will dramatically improve your 1/4 run by hooking awesome off the line. A good Cold Air Intake kit will add you 10-15 more hp, save on gas mileage, and shave a tenth or so off if you need a low budget mod for the engine. Also read up on powershifting (if you arent already a powershifter). Powershifting keeps the car in the powerband and doesn't drop rpms during shifts and will really wake up a 1/4 ET. With the right tires and powershifting your car is easily a mid/high 13 second car without any engine work.

Whew, 14.3. kinda walks there.
Tires. Ignition, Chip. Fuel. Air intake. Change tranny oil.
Tires ; use low profile "cheap" tires, inflate hard..not soft.
Ignition: advance, needs chip re-calib.
Fuel ; 94 works
Air: min, K&N drop in, better: cold air system "FIPK"
Tranny: ask a mechanic, same with LSD (limited slip diff)
should be 11's
My 4700 pound truck does better.

these two companies have what they call power packs. Its hard to find them on there website but you see them in there catalogs. I have jegs and summit catalogs. I would suggest order there free catalogs to get started. Basicly you want better gears, better exhaust, better air filter and the ususally crap. this is what they pretty much have and they both have a catagory just for mustangs

Get a VW Beetle (classic one obviously). They make the best drag racing cars. Cheap, light-weight, potential for up to 300bhp naturally aspirated (that's about 500bhp per ton in standard factory trim), and more traction than you can shake a stick at. You know it makes sense
