it will cost more money to re-educate someone when the college grad is killed off.

I was running Navy recruiting for 5 years (2000-2005) and can say that recruiting on college campuses is occurring. There are 2 divisions in recruiting for all services: enlisted and officer. I had recruiters specifically assigned to colleges. The 2 year colleges are typically handled by the local recruiting office and 4 year colleges are handled by both enlisted and officer recruiters. Don't think for a second that a person with a 4 year degree is going to be an officer. I put in people with Masters and started them out enlisted as an E-3. For the Navy, if you maintain a 3.4 or better GPA for 4 years in a university, you may get a look at officer programs. Just a note, a person with a 4 year degree probably will not start out making more than an E-3 in the service and I had much better benefits and promotion opportunities!!

All Officers of the United States Military are required to have at least a bachelors degree. If you have a college degree and are interested in the military, you want to be an officer. The army doesn't 'recruit' officers, becoming an officer is a rather competitive process, not everyone is made to lead soldiers in combat.
Programs such as ROTC (Reserve officer training corps) are where many of military officers come from, others choose to attend OCS (Officer Candidate School) after completing their college degrees.

speaking as someone who was in the military for 8 years (1997-2005), most people who enlist in the military do so because they have no other option. Either they couldn't afford college or they just don't know what they want to do with their lives. Most college grads who go into the military come in as officers either through the military academies or OCS. It is a waste of time for recruiters to try to enlist college grads because most of them already know what they want to do. I enlisted because I had no direction and didn't know what I wanted to do. Eight years in the Navy helped me to determine that. Then again I did know some people who enlisted because they were ordered to. They had gotten into trouble with the law, and the judge basically said "military or jail". These are not bad guys for the most part, just people who messed up and are now trying to make it right.

i imagine there are undesirable human beings everywhere this consists of the U. S. protection stress. exceedingly the criteria of which they enable human beings into the military, the Marines, the Air stress, the army, and the nationwide guard are a lot more beneficial at present then they have ever been, yet you should comprehend there are loopy human beings everywhere, there are also evil human beings everywhere. If we actually needed to resign this manner of habit i do not imagine we ought to continually look to the recruitment procedure, we ought to continually examine out how a lot/commonly those solders were in strive against. as hence of President Bush lots of those men are going again to conflict 5 or 6 circumstances in the previous they're allowed to stay abode, that's exceptional less than the different administration. in my opinion, i'll be certain how going to Iraq again and again and yet back can force you loopy, that's unlucky and the human beings quite responsible for this are a similar ones that basically left the White abode.

Because sadly Kerry was right few if any rich, elite, college or connected people end up in the services. The military has continuously lowered their standards right now we are on a 9 th grade level and still cannot fill their ranks. A all volunteer army works for money which accounts for a higher % of the budget and make them mercenaries in the eyes of the world. (Note: A personal favorite none of the Rush or Hannity group has ever been in the service, none but yet they do not mind spilling our blood).
God Bless You and The Southern People.

They do heavy recruiting where they think they'll get more people. College grads are less likely to join the military because they have better job opportunities than high school grads. High school students are also more impressionable.

Why? They do recruit there but in general the only real success for officers is to go through one of the military academies.

You should head to my college campus, "why arent you in the army yet?" "This is now the time to get all the benefits." etc
I have actually talked to him from my parents and friends experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan and all i get is "oh I was not aware of that"
The best part is he does not even remember me each time he gives me the sales pitch.

Because the colleges have banned them from the campus. They went to one college and they were chased off, had things thrown at them. Colleges have also banned ROTC.
Colleges today are very anti military.
