Why would you want too? I love a good sneeze, if your eyes are shut you can't see where the snot goes!

TO put into perspective those who have written the answer to say see where your snot is going, most people when the sneeze exhale the force of the sneeze through their mouth , hence the term achoo, but the more likely answer would be a nervous linkage to the bodily function to protect the eyes from popping out. I once read of a person who had put a plea of mitigation in on a car accident which was caused by him sneezing the magistrate took this into consideration and gave a more lenient sentence, so leave it as is do not change snot or not

I read that you cant doit i.e keep your eyes open when you sneeze but I wanted to sneeze a couple weeks ago & remembered what I read so I had a friend video tape me & I tried to keep my eyes open & the tape showed that I did ...i.e sneeze with my eyes open so I don't know where the idea originated but I know now that it's not true cause I did it ...i.e sneezed with my eyes open....before I found out I could though some one told me that it may be because your eyes will pop out of your head but that person was kidding.

Don't worry, it isn't just you - no one can! You can't keep your mouth open, either!
Did you know that when you are sneezing that you are the closest to dying that you will every be without actually dying? Everything shuts down including your heart for that moment. That is why people say 'bless you!'
Oh, the other reason for people saying 'bless you,' is because they thought that it was the devil getting out of your body. I prefer the first explanation.

It is impossible to keep your eyes open when sneezing!

You can NEVER keep eyes open while sneezing 100% of time. It is purely reflex mechanism without control of mind.

because, if you tried that your eyes would comes out and your heart will stop immediately. that's why we are Muslims are requested to thank god after sneezing as an appreciation for letting us a live.

they sat your eyes would pop out.. i don't know this for a fact because i have never tryd to keep them open which is a pain when you sneeze wile driving!!!
