Medicine as a treatment:
I believe a medicine to be something that would cure an ailment, a remedy to treat abnormalities of body defects and functions, an agent that will relieve sufferings and pain, a supplement that will lead to a happy and healthful life, and most of all I believe that a medicine should be something that gives no harm to someone who takes it. I believe that medicine should be made with the main motive of helping the well being of potential takers; business purposes should not be the main concern of its production.☺

I believe that a medicine is either an element or a compound which people ingest for one of the following reasons:-
The first reason people take a "medicine" is to try to cure an illness,eg antibiotics might be prescribed by a doctor to attack an infection which is damaging the patients body. It may even be that for reasons of diet, environment and age a person may require to increase their intake of iron-rich compounds which therefore could be considered medicines.
The other main reason people take medicines is to alleviate the symptoms of the illness they are suffering from. These take the form of painkillers, etc, where the medicine does not actually act on the problem but, by reducing the symptoms allow the patient some relief.

Gentle, kind & one that alleviates symptoms without side-effects. On that note, there are no conventional medicines that fit that definition so that's why I left medicine after 21 years & now practice homoeopathy which fits my definition exactly.

It is better sometimes to take medicines to be better faster rather than a long herbal treatment.
