Sharpton and Jessie Jackson are some of the biggest racists out there. No if the men were anything but Black Sharpton would not lift a finger for them. The fact is police brutality is a color blind issue. It affects us all and until we stop caring about the "racial" aspect it will not go away.

Yes they were Black, at least two of them were. The third man had a last name of Guzman which might suggest he was Hispanic at least in part.

The second hyprocritical aspect is that these guys from what I understand first hit the mini van full of cops. Ok they might have been drunk and had an accident. Then they almost ran over a cop backing up and hit the van again. So one of two situations existed. The driver was either totally wasted and incapable of driving or only intoxicated enough to become aggressive and targeted an ethnic minority that he hated. If they were so wasted they were incapable of driving then their deaths were sheer bad luck. Were the cops supposed to wait until they killed somebody to stop the car they were driving? Being that drunk they would have killed somebody else on the road if they had not hit the cop's mini van. If it was an act of aggression then they had likely done this before and may have killed people in the past for random reasons such as skin color. Then it merely becomes ironic that they met their end in the way they did. More of a Darwin award than police brutality.

In both instances this is not a clear cut police brutality issue unless the twice ramming the mini van is wrong. As such the cry of police brutality is damaged. True cases of police brutality lose credibility. That is the really saddest part of this. These guys were not innocent byestanders gunned down for no reason. They'll be used to discredit real instances of police brutality though.

On color TV, they appeared to be Black Men. Their car was grey. They hit an undercover car with officers inside of it. The uniforms responded with gunfire for fear of a shoot-out. So far, no gun has been found, but that car sure took a beating, so it's going to be interesting how Sharpton handles what he calls "his people"! White guys would have reacted differently to the situation. I doubt that Sharptons help would be needed or wanted by the white community. I said DOUBT, so don't get all uppity on me, please.

Which part of NYC and what hour? If the media bothered to report it, I suspect if was a 'minority'. Al Sharpton only notices things that can be MISinterpreted as racist. I have yet to see him notice actual racism.

If they were white, the incident never would have occurred. Police generally don't shoot unarmed white people 50 times.
