I have a sony DVD burner and I use the Nero Suite and it normally runs in top shape. I've been through processes and services and registry and I have a gig of memory and my machine runs great. I haven't made any changes to it lately and out of nowhere today it took me two hours to recode a DVD to a 4.7 file size and it will take another hour or so just to burn the dang thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software but it is still doing it. Any ideas?

All of the processes are the normal ones that are always running.

Have you checked to see how many programs are running in the back ground ?

Like if you try to burn a DVD & your virus program is running your burner will take much longer.

Well it could e a number of things other the data is not completely coping or try a disc fragment go to start all programs then accessory's then system tools it will say disc fragment or you could do a disc clean up the same but instead of clicking on disc fragment click disc cleanup.
