I had a mate living in the USA for some time. When he moved back to England he sold his VW because of the costs.

Really nothing rare about that, and it's what driving VW buses prices through the roof. I have not clue where you're from, but seems like most of them are heading over to the UK. The reason for this (to other people reading this) is that the climate is much harsher over there and there just aren't many around, so if you want a nice one you get it out of the states. Anyways, check out thesamba.com , if you have the money (and what you want won't be cheap) you'll be able to find it.

As far as ebay - I'd stay away from it, thesamba.com is a site for people in the hobby and odds are they are going be more honest and willing to work with you. Not that everyone on there is, but seems like a lot more shady car sale happen on ebay from my experience.

Here is another site to check out, and while they aren't cheap they do have a good reputation:

Good Luck
