the pain is there for a while... after i get down and start walkin the pain is gone... is this because of the seat?

I'm not sure if you have tried this, but;

Obviously, adjust your bike to a comfortable position (bike fitting and adding spacers to handlebar post.)

Also, this is so important-

FOR PETE'S SAKE DO NOT WEAR BOXERS ON LONGER RIDES!
I have personal experience with this.........very painful.
Wear something that will keep (everything) packaged in, like good briefs.

Try a different seat and padded shorts. As for the back have you gotten the bike fitted to you? It works wonders.

Yes. Not only bicycle seats, try sitting in chair for hours, inevitably you will feel some pain in your lower back.

You might want to try a jockstrap.
