First of all, be clear in your mind why you are in this activity. Is it because someone told you that you can do this with public donations or because it will give you some lines to write in your C.V. ? These are not good reasons for starting or running a Club with charitable motives. Your primary motivation has to be service to the suffering people. When that work is done without selfish motives, you won't need to convince others about your credibility through any documentary evidence. The work speaks for itself.
I will give you a personal experience. I run a Charitable Trust for helping the poor in Orissa. We have hardly ever gone asking for donations to the Trust. But the very poor people whom we help have done their own publicity for our work and help has been coming unsolicited. Recently one way side Tyre repairer came to my residence in Goa and offered a Blood Pressure Reading apparatus (SPHYGMOMANOMETER) for the rural clinic we run. He had heard from some body about my frequent trips to Orissa and the activities we carry on . When he felt like doing some charitable donation he remembered my work and thought of helping us. That is the power of honest work. It draws resources on its own and needs no publicity.

You work sincerely for a time and make it a part of your personality. You will not need to mention it in your C.V. The work will leave its stamp on your personality.

There is a government social welfare office in New Delhi first of all make efforts to visit hem and get many informations.they too work along with UNICEF under the social welfare scheme for women and children called Anganwadis. Each slum and some help needed areas are divided under one supervisor and she appoints some workers and helpers from within the community.Everyday the children come to one selected house and are given some advises and are given some meals like protein biscuits, bread etc.there is monthly doctors visits for vaccination.Women from the community are given advises on safe sex etc.this is just the government organisation i am talking about and it takes place all over India. There are lots of private NGO`s running but you must be careful to contact the right people who are doing things the right way....... well!! goodluck and if you have more questions you can ask me.may be i can help you a little.

Hey,I really like what you are doing & If you won't mind i'd love to be a part of your club.I don't stay in Delhi but near Delhi. If you feel that it's ok then send me an IM.
Total strangers won't believe if we suddenly go up to them one day & ask for donation. So I think to start off you can collect clothes & money from your neighbours, family & friends. They obviously won't take it as a joke.Wen your activities become popular people will believe you & you will get more donations .As far as distributing the things amoung the poor is concerned, you could take help from some elder in your family.Even if you help out one person you are doing a lot for this world.

Give it a name , Elect for officers. Create its by laws and policies and register it with the appropriate government agency. But it could also be non registered as long as it is a non-profit organisation. In your cv's state the name of the organisation and your position and the scheduled activities.
