Epilepsy cannot be cured, but it can be 99.9% treated. Seizures can be almost completely prevented, but for an epileptic, there will always be a chance of a seizure, thought it may be a very very very slim chance.

I am epileptic and have had no syptoms for the past 19 months, I know that if one has epilepsy as a child they can out grow the illness, but then again it all depends what has caused the epilepsy in the first place. I hope my condition is on the wane,I have changed my life style, stopped being a negative person, have a more positive outlook to life which don't stress me,(stress used to aggrevate my condition) have plenty of laughter in my life and I feel great. I also relax more but my doctor says after 5 years of no seizures then I will be tested to see if the illness has gone.as I already said it all depends on what caused the epilepsy, the doctors could find no reason whatsoever.for my condition. Actually I do know of a person who is completely cured
he has had no seizures for 25 years and has been officially told he is epiletic free.

You have never heard of it because it doesn't exist. Epilepsy is a disorder which primarily affects the motor control area of the brain. In an epileptice seizure the neurons in this area fire spontaneously and continuously, which is what causes the uncontrolled jerking movements associated with a seizure. Medications can discourage the seizures by making the neurons less sensitive to transmissions, but you certainly wouldn't want to dull their ability completely. If you did, normal movement and activities would become impossible. In cases of severe, mulitple seizures, there are surgical procedures which sever some of the connections and there are experiments with implants which are used to deliver an electroshock to the specific trouble spot, but these are extreme treatments used when all else fails and something has to be done to help the person survive. Otherwise, people who suffer from epileptic seizures are given medications to help control them. With the right medication maintained at the proper levels in the blood, most people maintain quite good control of their seizures and can go long periods of time without one. But they are never considered cured by any means. Even if they do manage to go a few years, eventually they do have a seizure, and then will go several more years before having another.

There are more than 15 different forms of epilepsy.
My assistant is now completely cured . It took exactly 15 years to cure him. He was 20 when he started a new treatment for the specific form of epilepsy he had. He is 100% cured now.
Check with a specialist, and BE PATIENT WITH THE CURE... You will make it !
