That sounds like a symptom related to autisim, I guess you should take him to a doctor or psychologist.

I agree with the second answer...she's right you know? Children do start talking at a certain age when they're ready to or you could take him to a doctor. My 2 year old can talk in little bit of peices and my all my other kids didnt start talking until 2 and 2 and a half.

There could be many reasons why your son hasn't started talking. I wouldn't wait any longer to have him tested.
My grandson didn't say one word (not ONE word) until he was almost 2-1/2. He has been diagnosed with mild autism.
On the other hand, my husband's cousin hardly spoke until he was 4. He's perfectly fine.
Have your son's hearing tested and what ever other tests need to be done to find out IF there is a problem.
Don't put it off. Good Luck.

I understand you being worried at this point. Have you talked to his doc about it? Well I have a very close girlfriend that had the very same issue. Hers on was about that age and not talking, he would just point at things and make sounds when he wanted something. Her doc said for her not to worry. A few months later she can't get him to be quiet! If he does not start to say words in a few more months, I would suggest taking him to a speech specialist.

first of all I recommend you take him to his pediatrician but still you gotta ask your self some questions
*Did you mean he is not making a clear sentences or you mean he dont make any sounds or not even saying mamma or dadda?
*Does he understands what you are telling him?
* Do you all talking to him on the same language?
* Do you talk to him a lot & point at things to him?
if your child can understand all or most of what you are saying & make sounds & say a few & unclear words so don't worry he is on the way, also if he'll be bilingual so that may cause a little bit delaying on talking,& if you don't heklp him by talking to him and point out things by their name,so you may start,Finally you still have to consult his pediatrican to make sure it is not due to a medical problem
GOOD LUCK

boys take longer to talk than girls, but just in case check with his pediatrician, that way you won't have to worry about something being wrong.

Children develop these skills at various ages. If you're concerned, talk with his doctor. Meanwhile read to him, talk to him and soon you will find he will be talking non-stop
