Bro it is simply sports and competition...think about your training partners...you beat the crap out of each other during training...you make each other bleed...you hurt each other...but afterwards you go out for a drink...you know the other guy has worked his but off to try and beat you, and you the same...you relate to him....your similar people, you have similar attitudes, and it is a rare breed of person that can train that hard and fight like that, they have great respect for each other....plus they don't want to appear to be poor sportsmen on TV..

because before they fight eachother, they usually have no grudge or bad feeling toward eachother. They simply like the sport. So when they steps in the ring or cage they put everything beside fighting aside and go full at eachother. They doesn't take the damages personally, they knows it was expected and a part of the sport. So after the fight, they both are back to normal themselve and forget all about what happen in the fight. So they wants to congulation eachother.

Generally, it is called good sportsmanship. However, if you pay close attention, the combatant who won the contest is the one who is usually excited and wants to walk over to the other corner and hug the other fighter. Its called "good sportsmanship" when you hug an opponent that you've completely annihilated, but it can also be considered somewhat twisted, along the lines of being sick.

Because it is a sport. It is not a personal fight (most of the time). The competitors have a mutual respect for each other. Also, 99% of competitors in the UFC have a primarily martial arts background, which teaches respect for your opponents.

as it was said before, they show respect for each other so as there's no hard feelings between them. most of these guys were on a team together or trained together.
and it's just good sportsmanship to congradulate the winner, just as the coaches and players of football teams meet in the center of the field after the game.

that is professionalism in action, and top level sportsmanship. respect and control, awesome to see in fighters who were out for blood a few minutes before. holding a grudge for your own loss shows bad character and the true cause of defeat, and getting too proud and big headed over a win will serve nothing but the caressing of your ego.
