They're awful! I do all the laundry at my house so I was checking how they're supposed to be cleaned before my husband bought them...well what idiot came up with a uniform that is supposed to use woolite (or other gentle wash detergent)!? For god's sake it shouldn't have to be treated like lingerie to get cleaned properly! Plus the velcro.....again why would they do that? It tears up (not to mention tears up whatever else accidentally comes in contact with it) and is soooo noisy and is really ugly to boot. This was a really poorly thought out idea in my opinion.....Oh yeah and they tear up alot faster and have to be replaced so how is that supposed to be saving money?

I never wore it but I heard many reviews about it.. And it also doesn't look or sound like the smartest thing the Army came up with.

The grey camo, what the hell is that? Wannabe marines? Please I think you should just stick to the dirt or green camo for different types of terrain, there are no such thing as all in one camo unless your in the Sci-Fi world where your suit mixes with the back round (AKA you become transparent or a fake chameleon).. But the grey is really good urban camo, like my school concrete urban, not like the houses in Baghdad or Fallujah.

Velcro... Wow.. Do they know that thing makes noise? My ears are like allergic to velcro.. Hehe.. Those velcro wears out due to the mud, dirt, etc gets stuck on em and yep. They come off pretty easily on sticks and such.. It might even give away a units position, I rather have the sow-ons or no patches at all.. This is your battle uniform, there really isn't time for patches, just ranks and your job. And velcro really wont help with that.

The IR patches seems like a good idea tho, like I said I never wore these but I read about them and reviews about them.. This kind of sounds smart, to identify friendly units from far away.. Hopefully this thing actually works and reduces friendly fire.

Its basically.. Well whats the word for it.. Permanently starched or folded, so you never have to starch and press your uniforms again.. OH THAT'S RIGHT! Permanently pressed. I also hear that they don't last as long or rips and wear out more then their old BDUs...

Personally, I ordered a forest MARPAT (Marine Camies) for Halloween but the shipment got delayed, so I'm thinking about just using it as a jacket and such sine it's getting cold.. I feel guility about wearing the EGA.. Especially since it's not halloween.. But I'll try it out and see if it is good or battle fit or not, but the US Marines use it, of course it's going to be effective!

Oh yes the pockets are nice too, shaped so you can reach in there and take things you need out much quicker instead of the body armor covering up the pockets making them ineffective.

I agree they are an improvement, but some changes WOULD be nice. But I never wore em, so don't take my advice.. This is just what I think of them.

PS. I think the Navy and the Air Force should trade patterns, the green and blue seems more fit fot the Navy while the blackish and white more for the Air Force.. The Black/White seems really nice tho.

I like the pockets on the ACU's, you have more of them and they are shaped better for easier access. I also like the fact that they are "wash and wear," unlike BDU's which had to be starched every time you wore them (in garrison at least). I also love the fact that only desert boots are authorized for wear with the ACU.

I dont like the velcro though, I would gladly pay the $20 or so every new duty station to get patches sewn on, rather then have to worry about losing a patch every time I brush up against something. I also dont like wearing pin-on badges which are the only ones authorized on ACU's.

Overall I think they are an improvement though over the BDU's and DCU's.

Eh mushy container. you have been under no circumstances completely in the NG (this is why you havent been discharged: no longer something to discharge particularly) so wearing it is going to kinda be posing. inspite of the undeniable fact that i see sufficient human beings dressed up as infantrymen on halloween, oftentimes sons and daughters who like enjoying army and wanna improve as much as try this nonetheless, so see you later as you have a glowstick so which you dont get hit via a vehicle and shelter your mommy's hand i see no disaster there

They are horrible. The velcro on the name tags doesn't last. Velcro is useless on a daily uniform. They also do not hold up as well as BDUs.
