Please read my other question, posted a few hurs ago to know the situation!!

I have considered many breeds and the only ones I feel I would really like are: German Shepherd, Collie, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, Rottweiler, Weimaraner, Alaskan Malamute or a Great Pyrenean.

I already have a Dalmatian, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (I wish they would make the name a bit shorter!) and an Afghan Hound.

Which would be the best breed for me? Please read my other question to know more about my lifestyle and my wants (and my other dogs) to get a jist of what breed I want.

I would appreciate any breed suggestions and any people who agree with the breeds I am currently considering.

Yes, I have researched the breeds thoroughly and know a lot about them.

Thanks,

-Lilly.

You've got a lot of great breeds that you are considering! It is tough deciding which to get when they are all such wonderful breeds. One thing that I noticed is that the dogs you already have are unusual (what I mean is not the dogs you see at the dog park every day-the labs, retrievers, etc.). One you might want to consider is a Norwegian Elkhound, my favorite. They are a medium sized dog, very active, with great "personalities". They love to play and have fun, but they do love to snuggle and be with their people too. Like with any breed they aren't for everyone though. Their "bad" points include being a vocal dog. They like to bark and some people don't like that their barks can range to very high notes. This breed happens to be my favorite, and there's a link for you to look into more info if you want. =)

I think you've got a lot of great choices up there and if you decide on any of those, I think you're going to have a wonderful dog. Good luck with your decision!

You have some interesting breeds. Both end of the activity level scale.....Border to Pyr.......rocket dog to 'mat' dog.

I have Goldens and a Pyr.

Pyr's are great dogs. I love mine, but they are not high energy dogs like your other breeds. They didn't get the nick name of "mat' dog for nothing (LOL). I am sure you read Pyr's to bred to hang out with the flock and warn them of danger. Pyr's are real good at hanging around and barking at 'danger'.....a car door shutting. My Pyr is a laid back princess, easy dog to live with, even considering her size. Personally, due to their (generalized) activity level and what you are looking for, I don't think a Pyr is the breed for you.

I would add a Golden to your pack. Goldens are always a nice addition, they can some times be 'busy' dogs a little more in line with what you are looking for.

You should go to the shelter and spend time with various dogs until you find one you love. Give a dog a chance at life!

You should get a yorkie. Otherwise, I'd get a Golden Retriever.
