As long as you take the recommended dosage on the package, it shouldn't have any long term effects on you, just make you feel more comfortable. If Mom keeps worrying, have her set up an appointment with a medical provider that does gynecological exams to see if everything is normal for you.

Just goes to show Mom's not always right.
Midol is tylenol,caffiene and a very mild diuretic (to relieve water retention). Of course always follow directions.
