That was old testament law, God had to ordain something that suited the needs of the time.
Personally my Pastor has accompanied some women to the police station to press charges against assailants,
and we follow that the law of the land should be obeyed.
I hope there is little in house conspiring of this type these days.
I still do say the Bible is completely accurate, in those times no other man would touch that women and to be a unmarried women, gave no income and no security, This way he would pay for it and have to live with her, and provide for her and be held accountable by the entire city, or tribe.
P.s it's more likely to be Jewish.
The bible is true and accurate, thank God I don't have to marry my rapist cause since Jesus came, Salvation is about healing, as well as being saved - for those who don't believe me check out your Bible

Religion is a myth to answer the questions human beings couldn't have answered at the time that very religion came into being. It has always been and shall always remain a SOURCE OF EXPLOITATION of common masses in the interest of certain others. Want a proof, look around today's world.
Women, being the oppressed class, have had to suffer the most coz most religions consider em second to men or men's property rather than independent human beings. DILLEMA!

We are no longer under the law of Moses in the first place.
In the second place you've misread the scriptures...
In this first instance (Deu 22:25-27) the man FORCES (rapes)...the man only is killed
(Deu 22:25) But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:
(Deu 22:26) But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
(Deu 22:27) For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.
This second instance (Deu 22:28-29) is talking of consentual sex..."he takes hold of her" doesn't mean he forces her, it means he takes hold of her passionately.
(Deu 22:28) If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
(Deu 22:29) Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

$13 was a lot of money back then--and that verse is just a reflection on the misogynistic laws of those times, which did in fact serve a purpose as a single mother had very little chance of surviving on her own--you'll have to forgive their ignorance of what rape is actually motivated by and what the life of the woman would have been like, but they don't call them the dark ages for nothing

enable's seem on the NKJV: i stumble on greater bitter than death the female whose heart is snares and nets, Whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God shall escape from her, however the sinner would be trapped with the aid of her. he's not asserting ALL women are greater bitter than death, in basic terms those whose hearts are snares and nets and whose hands are fetters (manipulative and stressful) - in case you please God, he will supply you from her, yet once you're an unrepentent sinner he will bypass away you on your individual gadgets and you isn't waiting to get freed from her. men and girls are the two called Honey, Sweetheart and any style of alternative puppy names - this is an expression of love.

Stop scanning obscure passages in the Old Testament, written 4000 years ago, for something to judge and complain about. Get a life.

actually rapists are condemned to death. and rape is only declared rape if the girls SCREAMs.
however Laws have evolved beyond those to define greater sentences.
it also says about women! to NOT usurp their husband and to be SILENT in the church and that they will not be forgiven without child bearing. Tim ch.2
I think the submission of wives to their husband comes through abraham and Moses and through Adam too because of EVE because of her transgression.
however, if a woman cannot beforgiven wihtout giving birth! it also says that both man and woman MUST remain faithful and such faith can only be found in the covenant of marriage.

My friend, this was the custom in the OLD Testament. We are under a new covanant called the New Testament and this is no longer valid.
God has great value on ALL of us...and HE does not want anyone to be abused. Please read the two links below to learn more.
