I seem to recall that QANTAS has "airline" headphones with the three prong jack, no the single one. I suggest you bring along your own pair for your laptop.

I don't know about the Airline, but Maplin (Shop and On-line) sell adaptors for using standard headphones on planes with double plugs. I have never seen one with three plugs, so I don't know about those!
In my experience, Most Airlines with more modern planes now use the standard headphone socket. At least that is true for UK airlines!

Depends if you are in Business/First or Coach. My last Qantas LHR/SYD flight had Bose headphones...very quiet...but First Class.

Buy an adaptor if you want to use your own good headphones, headphones on airlines are cheap + nasty if travelling economy. Some good headphones that have noise cancelling functions etc... already come with adaptors for air travel.

I think I'd be more concerned about having enough leg room and bring my own headset for such a long haul.
