Hi Michael, I am not a bible thumper, on the contrary my belief is the bible was written by those to frighten and empower, although I believe some bits have some credence. I am a Spiritualist. Your question is really a statement which is saying that collection trays are to line the vicars' pockets. I would offer an explanation that firstly it is optional whether to put in the collection, secondly how much is also optional and thirdly it is to keep the church building going - repairs, heating, lighting etc. If these weren't paid for out of the collection where do you think it comes from? Spiritualism is more a way of life than a religion but we do have services which are often in a rented hall, so the collection pays for the hire charge. It also pays the Medium's petrol expenses. You probably only posed this statement for the reaction!! Am I right or am I right!!!!! You seem to have got it here!

Such people are condemned because Jesus said "THEY" have their reward.
Will a man rob God, but you all say where have we robbed god? and he says In your tithes and offerings. Yet, this verse has become the symbol of people robbing god by not paying tithes and yet it applies to those that RECEIVE tithing and offerings too. They are just as much a thief before God, as surely as governments steal Taxes and force laws of religious taxation for the unsaved.

No not all, In our Congregation we don't have any priest or vickar who gets paid for his services nor is there any plates or nets passed around for donations at all ever! there is no payment to anyone for services but diferent men in the Congregation have parts or Talks they deliver to the Congregation for free there is no need for a priest or vicar to be paid so there is no need to pass a plate around and no need to pass a plate or net.

the giving of money in church is optional and i got a question for you do you go to church for the vicars sake or to find god!? cause if its to find god then what the vicar does with the money he will have to answer for to god on the day of judgement!! just as long as when you give you give with good intention you have done no wrong

what are you talking about are you drunk or just very odd? I'm just about to go to church and give 10% of my income as the bible tells you to but my church uses the money to keep the building standing repairer the roof and heat it the vicars only on £10.000 a year so go back to bed or something. far more constructive!!!
