Tell him (text) you are in a far better frame of mind now, and would be interested in a rain check if that sounds like a good idea, & that if not, it's all good & for him to take good care too & enjoy the Holidays.
That way there is no pressure, you are willing to accept an answer either way & be cool with it so he doesn't have to feel pressured or awkward if he passes on it.
A lighthearted way with a graceful out is always the most dignified and comfortable approach for both parties. Good luck dear!

What is the ??? act strangely? My advice is that you should ask him out for a date. If he say yes, you have a chance...if no, move on because he has move on.
My guess is that he has move on because 7 month is a long wait with no explanation on your ??? behavior. If he love you, he will forgive your behavior and say yes for a date.
