Ohhhhhhh, that is the world's 9th wonder. Like searching for Atlantis. If you find your Quest fill me in. That is dangerous Sea you are crossing! Women are the most devious things on the planet, you will find your way, but remember that she has more years on you and has gotten good.

no no... cameras won't work. he can get so upset that you are spying on his mom that he won't even see the problem you are trying to show. and imagine someone (especially his mom) finds the camera before you used the footage!
You have to be smarter than that. This will require lots of patience, but later you'll be rewarded. Do not tell him anything bad about her. Nothing. Only good things and with time he himself will start noticing opposition in his mother. Spend as much time as you can away from her with your husband (and children), so you can rest and your family will see what great wife/mother they have.
when you have a common disagreement with her, and you know your husband will hear you, just try to explain her loudly, but as to a child what she did wrong. I think soon his mother will be smoother too.

If he hasn't worked it out for himself by now having been brought up by her then he probably never will. Openly critising her is only likely to cause more friction between you and your husband. Try being as nice as you can to her. That should put her off her guard a bit. If she has done or said something unkind or unreasonable make sure you "happen" to bring it to your husband's attention in a none judgemental, no accusatory kind of way. Maybe just bringing it up in conversation "Oh you'll never guess what happened today......." Let him see what she does without inviting him to make judgements about it. If he still can't work it out from there, there's no hope.

Very very hard someone is always there mum and you don't have to get along with a mother inlaw but for your husbands sake just ignore the woman everyone else say's catch her out but this is your husbands mum not just anyone although one of my parents was far from perfect I still loved them in my own way catching her out will just cause more trouble than you need just try to cut down your visits .

The next time you know you and her are going to be alone, get a tape recorder and hide it and, right before she walks in the door, hit record an,when she starts bad mouthing whoever, play it back for your husband when the three of you are together. She might get mad at her but what would you want more?A mother in law who is mad at you or a husband who is in the dark about your mother in law?

It all depends, is his mother hurting you and pretending she is innoscent? In that case, it is better to settle it with his mom (calmly) rather than just exposing his mom to him, if he really loves his mom, it couldn't be nice to have someone he loves speak badly about his mom.
But if you just don't like the way his mom acts but she didn't hurt you in any way, than it's not worth bringing up, espeically, If she is very important to him; it would be unnecessary to shatter his image of her.

oh, he knows....remember he knew her first and also lived with her.
There is no getting around that.
As far as you go....tap your phone calls.....sounds silly...my was voice activated and would start when the conversation started...We didn't use it against her or to start anything. I told him she was telling me things and they were hurtful....Calling him names and such....anyways put a new light on things.
Radio shack sells the device and you use it with a regular tape recorder.
This was along time ago...note first 5 years of marriage...been married 19 years..:O)
Best wishes

why would you want to do that? Could he make you see that about your mom.You are taking a chance on ruining your marriage. You are his wife, you may have a son who marries a girl that pre-occupies her time seeking advice to make you out to be a phony. grow up!
