I teach 4 year old pre k and our feeding schedule is this:

A.M. Snack (breakfast) at 8:30: they get juice and something such as 1 waffle, 1 pecan spin, 2 sausage liinks, 1 pancake, 1 bowl of cheerios, etc.
We encourage the children to send thier children something healthy to go along with the snack provided such as a piece of fruit, cup of yogurt, or applesauce.

Lunch at 11:45:they get a cup of milk, a serving of vegetables (green beans, peas, corn, lima beans, carrots, etc.), an entree such as 3 meatballs, 3 chicken nuggets, a sloppy joe sandwich, 1 lunchmeat sandwich, etc, and a small bowl or fruit or applesauce (peaches, pineapples, mixed fruit, pears, oranges)

P.M Snack at 3:15: they get juice and something yummier such as animal crackers, goldfish, popcorn, go gurt, pudding, jello, cookies, etc.

Then wtih my own 4 year old we come home and have dinner between 5:30 and 6:00. I normally have something like rice, chciken, peas, and applesauce.

If he eats a good dinner then right after dinner he can have a small bowl of ice cream.

If he just picks he gets up and goes and plays without his sweet dessert.

After bath and pajamas he can have juice and something like yogurt, gummy snacks, popcorn, goldfish, etc. Something very small before getting settled for bed.

Good luck!.

A 4 year old should have the same schedule as the parents usually. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with some snacks in between. A 4 year old old can eat anything his/her parents eat.

It depends on the family and what you guys know how to cook and/or what you guys like to eat. If the child goes to daycare then you can determine how long it takes her/him to eat and then feed them that way. My five year old takes a long time to eat so I feed her about an 1 1/2 before I take her to school, she eats lunch at school, then when she gets home she's hungry and I'll give her a snack of grapes (or something like that) and then I'll feed her dinner around 5:30 or 6:00 and her bedtime is at 8 unless she's exausted, then I'll put her to bed after dinner and bath time.

The child is 4 years old and you're just NOW trying to figure out when/what to feed him???
If you don't know this child's likes and dislikes where food's concerned, how are we supposed to know?
Children should drink milk. Does the child like milk? I could continue this with every food known to man!!
They need a balanced diet.
Do a Google search and look at the food triangle. It's been updated, so there have been some changes.
You need to pay more attention to this child and figure out what they'll eat and what they like, etc.
If you're not sure, talk to your doctor and perhaps a nutritionist.
