I know I'm gonna take some heat for this answer; but it's because He has human-like traits and emotions (actually, it's the reverse, but it doesn't work here). After all, the Bible states that we are created in His image, so it's only logical that some of the traits of both humans and God would be identical.

I think it's because we can relate to God only as a person, and vice versa. How could we understand one not like a person?

god seems more like a person bcoz if u believe in GOD u would believe that he is ur father, ur mother everything. in real world ur all relations are made around human therefore to make relation with GOD he seems to be a human. sm more points:-
* like a human GOD is not able to make everybody happy.
* like a human GOD gives rewardss and punishment to persons.
* like a human GOD loves all his children.
* like a human GOD always except to become good people from us.

One God
[21:21] Have they found gods on earth who can create?
[21:22] If there were in them (the heavens and the earth) other gods beside GOD, there would have been chaos. Glory be to GOD; the Lord with absolute authority. He is high above their claims.
Never Question God's Wisdom
[21:23] He is never to be asked about anything He does, while all others are questioned.
[21:24] Have they found other gods beside Him? Say, "Show me your proof. This is the message to my generation, consummating all previous messages." Indeed, most of them do not recognize the truth; this is why they are so hostile.
One God/One Message/One Religion
[21:25] We did not send any messenger before you except with the inspiration: "There is no god except Me; you shall worship Me alone."
[21:26] Yet, they said, "The Most Gracious has begotten a son!" Glory be to Him. All (messengers) are (His) honored servants.
[21:27] They never speak on their own, and they strictly follow His commands.
The Myth of Intercession
[21:28] He knows their future and their past. They do not intercede, except for those already accepted by Him, and they are worried about their own necks.
[21:29] If any of them claims to be a god beside Him, we requite him with Hell; we thus requite the wicked.

No one can have any concept about God.
He sends His Messengers to us in the Temple of man and using human languages to teach us, therefore, we think that He is like a person.
Our knowledge about Him and about His Messengers increases with our learning from His revealed Holy Books. Without reading and applying the lessons in the Holy Books, our faith is only blind faith.

I don't know? God doesn't seem like a person to me... we can't see him or hear him. And he has some laws and requests that most "people" wouldn't ask for ... what do you mean exactly?

I agree, he has too many human attributes. That's one of the biggest problems I have with the Christian version of God.
