Don't treat religious people with kid gloves. Tell them the truth at every chance you get. This is the only way to get rid of religion.

Well, he's your friend, so why not just say hey there's this documentary I'm kinda interested in. Could we watch it together?
Then you'll be able to see his reactions first hand, with the subject's content having been presented by the documentary, and not you. After the movie if he seems at all open, or interested that would be a great way to start the conversation, if not, drop it and no harm is done! As far as what is new age and what isn't... do some reading, get at least three books from different authors so you get a bigger scope and view point, it's a huge subject that is definetly interpreted differently by different people...Good luck...

Whether one is Christian, newage, doesn't matter.Unfortunately , it might for dogmatice type of Christians.Anyways, the most important thing is this:
Critical Thinking Skills
Objectively evaluating all claims, propositions, and conclusions.
Independent thinkers.
Does not automatically accept and believe what they read or hear.
Carefully analyze and evaluate the evidence and the reasoning presented.
Able to recognize/spot/detect manipulative emotional appeals, unsupportive assumptions, and logical fallacies.
Willing to suspend judgement.
Willing to modify or abandon prior judgements and deeply held false beliefs.
Does not make snap judgements.
Gather and consider the most relevant and up-to-date information on all sides of an issue before taking a position.
Pick out the true and useful and discard the false and misleading.
If you follow these guide lines , you are really THINKING in the most effective cognitive way. TAKE CARE = )
BTW, is the film called "what the bleep do we know"??

Go for it! It sounds like he could use it. The documentory may upset him, but what good is our ability to reason, if we just follow blindly? I had a phillosophy class in college, and one of the other top students was devout in her beliefs. The class dealt with the Question: Is there, or isn't there a God. She would argue with the proffesor, instead of listen to both sides of a particular argument. One day she walked out mad, during class. The following class, the proffesor began by walking straight up to her desk, looking her square in the eye and presented her with a question. She got over it and did quite well in the class. She ran the christian club on campus, so I thought at least you could tell your friend that story, if issue should arrise. Maybe they can get over it to and open their mind to others points of view. It can be a better world with a little more understanding!

it does not matter if your are christian or not, remember the same
concern you have about your friend, its the same he is got to have for you, know, tell him about the subject ,and say that is not something you're doing for starting an issue about any religion,
its just a documentary about what you have said and ,you will like to share it with him,i don't think that's a big problem, besides you wont loose nothing for asking.the worst that can happen is a yes or no

Anything "New Age" is definitely, without a doubt, Satanic in origin. The New Age teaches that all of mankind can and will eventually ascertain godhood, or Christ-hood-or something similar. If your best friend is strong in his/her faith they will immediately recognize the satanic nature of these teachings. There are numerous videos, Cd's and books for Christians to study about the New Age movement. If your friend is relatively new to the faith he/she may be unarmed and unprepared for this. If you manage, by some chance, to convince them to exchange their true faith for the lies of Satan then you may have some company on the way to Hell, due to his/her ignorance and inexperience with the Word of God. If your friend has some knowledge of Christianity and the New Age movement, or if they have been given spiritual insight to the lies of this movement, then I think your friendship will not be the same.

My best wife is a Christian and I am not. I show her what I like and she rejects as she likes. Been married 40 years. Live and let live. My children had long hair and pimples and my grandchildren have rings and 3 boyfriends. My great-grand Children? But there is nothing new under the sun.

You don`t know what you know, you`ve heard, you`ve seen, you`ve discovered. Because you don`t know/understand anything on this subject matter, you will never know how to tell other people about it or correlate it with your life nor knows how to ASSESS the world base on what you`ve just heard.
Your friend is better than you, because he knows what is religion and what is science or what you just heard from others.
To tell you a little of your discovery:
Science discovered that...if you are in communication with the God or anybody not from our planes or when you are ecstatic/trance (from memory of your relationship or connections with God) this part of the brain is stimulated, (as seen in citiscan/EEG/ or what have you), etc.etc.etc.
It just means, connections first then consequences (reactions to biologic human parts.)
You know there is a Supreme Creator who made your life existence... why you have to exert effort just to disprove God is God?
With what you are doing...you exhaust yourself here on earth and then the eternal burning fire in hell due to your denial of God and your ungratefullness. You`re a waste, don`t you think so???
How about just enjoying your life stay here, and the beautiful view of our earth...then later in heaven.

hey sweet heart, if its not in the bible and this boy freind of yours is brain washed and indoctrinated correctly its all new age.
Some new age has basic and primary truths to be learned but much of it is apocryphal.
Check out the book Urantia Online! Also check out the Book of Mormon. These books really turn christian into demon possessed More righteous than you are hate mongers.

If he's a fundamentalist, just skip it. Don't go there, remain friends on the level you have established. Trying to enlighten a fundamentalist is a useless waste of your time, and may end your friendship.
