You have some good answers already but here is mine.
You are famous for being in the public eye for a multitude of possible reasons. Film star, radio presenter, model, head of church, government and so on. Infamous it usually a person that is well know for not being good, kind or humane. A murderer such as the Yorkshire Ripper is very well known but is not a very nice person. Fred West the multiple murderer from Gloucester is very well known for doing awful things. These people are infamous. Hope this helps and all the best to you. Have a nice Christmas.

Famous is being well-known for a good thing, and infamous is being well-known for a bad thing. Both mean well-known, but think of the in on the beginning of infamous as negating it so that it means for a bad thing, if that makes any sense.
