Faith is not about something. Faith is something.(substance)
Belief is about something.(thought)

Belief is any idea you are willing to consider acting upon. Belief is required by God. Faith is a gift and a human ability.(Faith pleases God)

If you consider that there is a God and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.--you have set before you the two basic beliefs which God requires.**

Anything beyond that must come by faith which comes by hearing the word of God. True faith can only operate from a clear conscience, void of offense, and in communion with the love of God. Once activated by the Word, faith is able to call things that are not as though they were. That is to call things into existence.

Check out Hebrews Chapter 11 in the Bible and other Scripture about belief and faith.

Remember that faith and belief are two totally different things. Belief is thinking, faith is heart. The "Bible", many Christians and the dictionary use faith as a synonym for belief? This however is totally untrue.

Did I just say the Bible is untrue? No. I am saying that you will make the same mistake reading Scripture as many Christians, and the same dictionary mistake, if you do not realize that Scripture calls faith faith and belief belief with one exception. The exception is "belief from the heart or heart belief." This use of the word belief is a "synonym" for faith in the Bible. It would be even better to say that belief from the heart is not even a synonym for faith but an analogy; for belief and faith remain two totally different things.

**You get faith by reading and acting upon the Word of God. I would, if I were you, simply ask in prayer, to the Lord Jesus Christ from my heart, that He give me real and true faith in Him. I would make a simple admission that I have been running away from God and have not been really all that desperate in seeking Him.

Finally I would stop considering religious mental garbage and ask God to make Himself known to me. In other words don't seek ideas or groups or religions -- seek fellowship.

How simple it is. If I love another I may never know everything there is to know about them. The most important thing is to be with them. Knowing more about them, and my own complete satisfaction, can only happen if I stay with them. So it is with God and moreso. "God give me the faith to get close to you and stay close to you," I pray always.

And if you diligently seek Him?
You will find my young friend,
It's a love affair, not a test.
Not a search, but a rest.

How do you get faith? Ask for it.

repeating scripture and not knowing scripture is dangerous, cause ppl use it out of context. when paul wrote that, it had nothing to do with going to a doctor, or any of that. paul was talking bout LAZY christains. faith without works is dead. he was telling them that we all are called to do some type of job for the kingdom of God, and how can a person say that they have great faith and there are no works to show ur faith. God didnt call us to go to church for ten yrs and just sit on the pew and never do nothing for the kingdom. paul and none of the other apostles was lazy. what if paul would have been lazy, the new testament would be very short. your faith should make ppl want to work for the kingdom. the more u believe in jesus the more u want to work to get his name out there to a dying world. paul was actually saying in a nutshell, the more the faith the greater the work and sacrifice and lesser the faith, the lesser the work and the sacrifice.

Your emotional mind that would love for the fairy tale to be true is pleading with your rational mind that sees it for the myth it is, no different than those of the Egyptians, Greeks or Norse.

The fatal flaw with Pascal's Wager is that it assumes one can talk oneself into believing what is obviously false. You must truly disconnect part of your mind and supress it in order to have faith.

Maybe if faith is so hard, you should just try living with unbelief for a while to see how it feels. It is really quite easy. You live every day with unbelief in those other deities, what's one more?

You do have faith
God gave everyone a measure of faith
It may be that you are not believing
Or you may be just in a trial
Believe that you receive and you will have
what you ask for

God Bless....

God is Love..........

You get faith by believing that Christ died for your sins and that he rose from the grave. You practice your faith by reading God's Word and applying to your life. I know that sounds lame but its true.

Sometimes you just have to be stubborn. Its a test and we all go through it. You have to imagine yourself as a tenacious...bulldog, or something like that..and just hang on to it in trust. After a while, kind of like the agony in the garden, an angel will come. You really have to sweat. It's not easy.

Sometimes, it helps if someone prays for you. Intercedes so to speak. Sometimes, it is someone who is no longer with us in body, but in spirit, watching over us.

Sometimes, you just have to go on a vision quest. Catholics go on retreat. Sometimes, a group retreat. Sometimes a solitary one.
