I would not do it in that region not yet anyhow. After you have had the children you wish to have then do it.
Hospitals will not give you an epidural for pain during childbirth if there is a tattoo there. as a precaution . The ink could travel into the bloodstream and they will not take that chance.
Maybe you might select another region or go and see a gyno or an anaesthesiologist prior to the tattoo for the advise on what location the tattoo could be and still be able to get a epidural. You might be sorry if you don't ask first.
Maybe the thoughts of having a baby is not on your mind right now, but it sure will be later.

I like the lower back for tattoo's they are easy to cover up because your clothing always covers it (well most of the time), the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that I can't see mine unless I look into a mirror and turn around. If you like the look of tattoos on the lower back and you really want one thats your choice but if you are having second thoughts I would wait until you know for sure what you want

In general, I think it's a passing fad that will spawn a lot of regrets later on. Lower back tats are overdone and passe. Although the location is good for keeping a tat discreet. I guess I'm just tired of seeing roses, fairies and pseudo tribal work on the lower back. My tat is on my upper back, smack in the middle. I cover it for work or for any other reason such as, my dad not knowing anything about it and aiming to keep it that way ;). Other than that, I show it off whenever possible! It's not a fairy, rose or tribal...lol

I have one, i'm 23 and had mine 2 years ago and i still love it.
It's low a enough to cover but on show with low jeans if i want.
I change the colours on mine so it's not the same as the shop.
Just remember all tattoo's are there for life so that is a good place to have one if you want one.
If you want it then get it, it's your body!

Tramp Stamp? I don't think so! I'm a 35 year old mum of two, happily married and most definitely not a tramp. I just got my one and only on my lower back, and everyone loves it, even my 73 year old mother! Yes, they're easy to hide, unless you wear hipsters and/or short tops. Hardly anyone I know has one on their lower back, so it can't be THAT terribly common!

Personally I think it's really tacky. Do you want a butterfly tattoo now that will look like a shriveled bat when you're 75? People are too quick to follow these silly fads that die off fast. Think about how you're going to change in a few years...

Where-ever you put a tattoo, you will always damage a part of your nerve-system.
And that means a dis-function of any part of your body, in or outside. That depends on where you put it. The same problem appears with piercings. You will not notice it immediately, but it will damage something at long term. You can not ever restore this damage again, it is just the same as with a scar! Read more about this subject in books about Tsubo or Shiatsu. So you will really understand this problem yourself.

I have one in that location- I designed it myself- I have no problem with tattoos, but I prefer tattoos in a discreet location such as the small of the back. It definitely looks tacky when a girl wears a strapless dress with tattoos on her shoulder or a guy wears a 'muscle' shirt with tattoos on his arms

If you are a girl then I dont think you should get one there...they are famous for the term of "Tramp Stamp." Try getting one somewhere else and start your own path. If your a guy asking this question, then my question to you is why are you even thinking about getting one there?
