The attorney should be affordable, and be available to meet in person near Orange county.
Please let me know if you have any one to suggest. Thanks

My husband paid an immigration lawyer to file his application and represent him at the hearing. I ended up doing all of the paperwork myself, the lawyer just signed it as legal representation and mailed it. So in actuality, we paid $1200 for nothing more than a half hour consultation, a signature, and a stamp.

I'll give you the advice I got from an immigration officer when my husband was going through the process: If you have a legitimate basis for filing an application and being awarded residency, you do NOT need a lawyer...they can't do anything that you can't do yourself. If you don't have a legitimate claim, whether you have a lawyer or not, you'll still be denied. And you know which category you fall into already...

Whatever nationality you are, look up a Latino community center in your area. They usually have access to people who will know of this kind of information. Explain to someone in charge there your situation and your need, and they should be able to direct you further to find what you need.

Good luck.
