my throat hurts ...?

my throat is in pain hurts to talk and all that but what really scares me is i spit up blood or so i think it was blood it was right after i woke up red spit and i have a massive headache with fever does ne one know what this is called or what it can do plz

Well, let's examine where blood can enter your 'spit' from. You have the esophogas, the stomach, the lungs, the sinus', the tonsils, the gums..and a few more places I don't want to go to LOL
Without knowing how much blood and pain, I would lead toward either a sinus infection, or strep throat. Both can become quite serious, but if treated quickly can hardly effect your life at all.
All of this said, go see a Dr. If you are having enough trouble swallowing that it is literally an agony, go to the ER, if not call your Dr in the morning and request an appt. asap.
If it is merely a little blood, is brown or pale pink, and the pain in your throat is only mild, wait and see how you feel in a few hours. Especially if you smoke.

If you do not have any other chest related symptoms then it would favour post-nasal discharge. Spitting blood is usually related to the nose or the mouth and pharynx in contrast to coughing blood which comes from the lungs. It may turn out to be a coagulation disorder. It also depends on the severity of your symptoms (the degree of bleeding). If you have any other symptoms or the bleeding starts again then you should get it checked out.

see a doctor. Ive spit up blood n found out that i had strep. so it could be your throat just may be very irritated, either way you need to see a doc. good luck
