I use dawn dish detergent diluted with water to give my dogs baths. I don't know about head n shoulders but I do know dawn kills fleas. I also keep a spray bottle handy with nothing but water and a shot of dawn in it, which I use between baths to spray on the fleas. Kills em too. But that won't be enough to get rid of the fleas. You need to learn about the lifecycle of the flea. Do an online search-there's a wealth of info out there and many tips on how to deal with the problem. I'm all for natural methods-no chemicals. For the dry skin I've used neem oil (available and cheapest at www.shopindian.com). Do a search and learn about the neem plant.

there are no good home remedies for fleas. you need to either take them to a groomer for a medicated bath or buy flea and tick shampoo at your local pet store. Are you sure that the dog has fleas? Do any of you have bites? If not then it's probably just dry skin and that can cause terrible itching. Soak him in baby oil and consider what you are giving him for a diet. He will need more oil in his food so you can add a teaspoon of olive or vegetable oil to his food or get some food designed for dogs with dry skin. Check with the vet to make sure he doesn't have excema or psorarisis. For that you would need special medicated shampoo to bathe your dog in about every 2 weeks. Good luck.

while you're showering him you'll notice, fleas don't move when they're wet. check all over his body and fur and take out the fleas and make sure they're dead, just because they don't move doesn't mean they're dead. pinch it with your nails then wash it down the drain. after all the fleas are gone buy your dog a flea collar and after walks check time and time again.
