there is a passage in the bible of the ten commandments that says that you cannot kill anyone, but there is also something in christianity and other religions that are trying to classify this sorta thing as a "Just War", which means that it's acceptable based upon justifiable cause. it's like in Islam they have what is known as Jihad (which has a few different meanings) but is commonly known as a "holy war" and is allowed because it's a 'just war'. they feel that it is the right thing to do because of the severity.

The bible states you shall love the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind and soul and you shall love your neibor as your self. Do this and you have keep the whole of the law. The original translation stated "Thou shall not murder" Murder to kill with forthought or mallis. Laymans terms you sought vengance or you hated the person , planned it and excuted the deed. We are instructed to not kill in our on will, yeat it is not a sin to defend ones on home or nation in Wartime. God had a prophet to kill a disobident King in the bible it was not sin because it was obidence to the Command of the Lord.
As far as the War in Iraq, Sure you can justify anything if you try hard enoof. We started a war based on no intellegence. We had to have blood in exchange for the blood of 911 and the leader of Irag was already a good target. So the president wanted to get back at Hussan for trying to kill his father and we went to war. All that not-withstanding Hussan was another form of Hitlar and murdered thousands. We have not gone into this war with out the knowedge of GOD. Actually he even tells us in the bible about this event in Daniel writings. The part about the ram and the male Goat that crosses the water and over powers the ram. Then the nation of the ram is broken into 4 parts not having the power of the ladder that is Iraq. That is Bush and Hussan it is speaking about. The bible also states that for him who know to do right and does not that is sin

The Bible tells us not to Murder however it does justify self-defense and God commands the Israelites in numerous instantces to war agains another nation so there is basis for war if the reasons are justifiable.
In my opinion, Saddam was one of the hundrds of horrible dictators who very much needed to get overthrown and deserved it. Yes, I think that what the Coalition did was a good thing. I think its turned out pretty badly for quite a number of people but I think it was the right thing to do.

i dont think the war is justified. if it gives power to UNRIGHTEOUS dominion in the name of God.
the ten commandments say do not KIll in english. but if you ask a Jew it supposedly says do NOT MURDER.
However from the same Jewish religion it says that God himself commanded to KILL and UTTERLY destroy! Women, children and animals alike. So the bible says there is a time for war and a time for peace. In the book of mormon there was a servant of God who refused to go to war to defend an apostate nation from the evils of war, but after a season He changed his mind and began to fight for his people.
another reason given in the BoM says that WAR is justified in the defense of Faith, Family and freedom.
No one wants to subjected to tyranny and oppression.
And our constitution supposedly gives us the right to be FREE. But the money changers and government have subjected us to bondage and low wages. The rich and powerful have made laws which make the American dream almost imposible to obtain because not everyone can get a loan. Therefore american society has become the Slave and Labor abominations that were once done away. slavery never ended it only changed all colors.

This may or may not be an answer but I have something to say.
I don't have the need to copy and paste a long winded answer to justify your question, however my knowledge of understanding would be it is part of the 10 commandments.
... Thou shalt not kill.
Seems pretty forward and basic to me; unfortunately we live in a world where it is inevitable. Thank you for your time.

JUST READ IT. Then you can have an intelligent conversation about it. Why should we supply you with the question and the answer. Seek out your own salvation with much fear and trembling. That is what the BIBLE says. And yes ppl like you do hit a sore spot with me. All day long you whine about we Christians, you stay up all night trying to find some way to trip us up. Look bud why don't you take your crap to GOD Himself if you are so right and so bad? I dare you to plant yourself in a Bible Believing Church for at least three months, open that closed mind and heart and then come back here. We do not have to defend ourselves to you at all. Why don't you defend your (lack of) beliefs. Lets hear your proof that GOD is not real and that every one who fights to defend their country is going to hell. You think GOD is afraid of war. No,nor is HE afraid of you.

Actually the commandment in it's original Hebrew is "thou shalt not commit murder"
A person could jump out infront of your car, and you could do everything in your power to avoid him, if you kill him with your car, you're still not a murderer. Murder is anger driven.
If there are marines in Iraq, there only to murder out of hate or anger, or worse just because they want to kill, than that is evil. If they are there with good intentions to defend their family and country, but would prefer not to kill, than God knows the heart and will judge them according to their motives. This is why we are not to judge!

ok...you asked what the bible says,
Exodus 20:13 "thou shall not commit murder"
However G-d condones killing in war many times. Directs Jews to kill all those occupying Jerusalem, Gideon, etc.
So killing in war is clearly different from murder according to the Bible.
Blessings,
David

Christ clearly says that you cannot kill.
26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
(King James Bible, Matthew)
We know this is the truth, and the Judgement is with God.

killing is not right, but as long as is self defence or doing it to protect one county its oky. but if a person does it like "in the name of god" its wrong. or if a person kills and thinks that the way to get close to god it's wrong 1000%. and yes the bible does say do not kill " the 10 commandment"
