I most politely moved 1000 miles away from them. I still did not feel that they had enough space. So, I moved an additional 1000 miles away from them this year.

I am a father of two teen kids and to tell you the truth its between their space and your worries for almost everything they do..I realised that to give them space and let them learn from their own mistakes(hopefully not a grave one), would be the better option then to be hated by them...They will learn and grow to love you when they turned 23 of age...

Well of course you would feel bad. But you need to give them space. You'll always be their parents but you won't always be their friend. Just tell them when they need space, even if you're arguing, give it to them. And tell them that you'll talk about it later and if you don't you'll embarass them later!! lol GOOD LUCK!
