Please help me A.S.A.P, I need to know what would be considered kidnapping. If your friends' parents were drunk, and you went and got her, would that be considered kidnapping? Could you be held responsible? Could the parents arrest you (for a felony) for taking their child when really you were helping her because they were drunk? What websites provide informatioon on this? Please help, ASAP. Thanks so much!

I think, if you believe that she is in immediate danger, then the best thing to do will be to call the police and they will bring the child protective services/

You seem to know not to do anything against the law, as that could jeapardize your helping your friend in the future. Why not call the pollice in your area, & ask them? I know that > when you're worried about someone either because they haven't been home or answering their phone when they should be --or when they say they're going tohurt themself-- you can call the police & request that they check on them for you. Maybe you coulld arrange for something like that. If you need to call Child Protective Services, they ought to be able to tell you. But, if you do remove this child due to child endangerment, you may want to protect yourself & them by letting the authorities know what the situation is. If they check on it, there will be a report of it that may help in the long run.

Have you already commited this act? If so yes you could be charged with this but given the circumstances you might not be prosecuted if lets say you called the cops right now and explained the situation. If you are contimplating such an act then thats not in your favor if this person is underage and they must be if you are concerned. If the child feels at risk you can call the police to intervene on her behalf. Generally our system isnt designed to punish those whose intentions are good but it does matter what the act is.

You mean taking an underage child?
Technically, you would have no right to do that, and yes they could charge you once they come to.
If they're drunk you could either tell them you're taking their child for a while, and they might agree. Or you could call CPS. Don't take their child without consent! Whether they are drunk or not. If the child is in danger, only CPS can intervene.

It may depends on your relationship to the family. If your not family then yes I would imagine because you could call the cops?

I really do not know. Good question. Sorry for not being able to help.

Overall I guess I will say yes but there is too much reasoning in my head to type.
