I've been on Prednisone for 4 months, started with 40mg per day and now i cut down to 5 mg per day, due to rare auto-immune disease.
I just started smoking since few days ago, since my boyfriend didn't take my sickness anymore so he left me.
I have no idea what's going to happen to my body if I keep smoking and drinking with taking prednisone.. i still have 2 more months to go with Prednisone.

Don't let a break up make your health even worse (along with stress) by smoking.

Drinking is bad for you also.

Take better care of yourself and get yourself a better man.

You are dealing with a physical illness that affects your life, and an indirect result is a relationship problem that has stressed you out. Drinking and smoking are obviously not going to help your condition and may cause even more problems. You need to quit.

ALSO: You should see a professional counselor who specializes in people coping with illness. He/She would be able to teach you coping skills for the stresses it creates in life and how to manage your life with an illness.

I know first-had how discouraging and depressing it can be. When I was on Prednisone, I had a breakdown from it. Watch out for mood swings. It can also cause weight gain. So using it should be a matter of how bad you need it and determined by you and your doctor. Sometimes the medicine is worse than the illness.

Please do see a counselor, so you'll have someone to talk to that is equipped with practical ways to help.

Best Wishes,

Sue

I Believe subconsciously you are trying to damage yourself .
This person hurt you and you are trying to do the same by joining in.
Self hate and self pity. Not knowing your self worth is destructive.
You are worth your own consideration.
Self medicating your emotions wont help them heal, and dwelling on the past wont help either.
You know how sick you are, your just making it worse, your immunity is non existent.
When you mix tobacco ,alcohol, marijuana, or any drug with prednisone you wont know the damage until you stop the prednisone. The steroid alone has side effects that you may not discover till long after you stop using it.
I wish you the best of luck and may God watch over you.!!!!!

Don't smoke and drink. They will only make your sickness worse. Try to figure out what makes your symptoms get worse so you can avoid it. My mom had RA. She figured ou that she was allergic to nightshade family plants. Those include: tobacco, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. Dairy could be a problem. Don't dispair and make your problems worse. Your health is your responsibility. No one is going to suddenly appear and wave a wand to make you better. You have to work at it or suffer.
