Small breed dogs often have Epilepsy.Have you asked your vet about this? They also have bloodsugar levels that are unstable.Keep some Nutrical (comes in a tube, from vet,.or petcatalogues)on hand, and if he seems "twitchy" give him about an inch of the Nutrical from your finger. They like it,it is a nutritional supplement that helps stabilize the system. Not expensive either, about $6 for a tube.Keep in refrigerator.See vet if you think he may be having small seizures! Then he may need medication.Good Luck!

This is a question you need to address with your vet. It is far too complex for y.a.
Sounds like you should get him in soon for a diagnosis.
If it is only nerves, I have heard aromatherapy can help pets, like chamomile and lavender.

If during sleep he is dreaming.
It may not be so bad? Make sure he is not having seizures. Take him to the vet make sure they are just twitches...
Good luck with him hope this is nothing serious.
