WOW! The uninformed children are out in record numbers today! Silencers and automatic firearms are NOT illegal! Certain states my prohibit you from owning them, but for the vast majority of the country they are completely legal for private ownership if you meet the criteria, pay the tax, and follow the federal guidelines. WHY do so many ignorant uninformed children get on this section and answer questions they have NO IDEA about, seriously, if you don't know what the hell you're talking about, DON"T ANSWER!

In most of the world it's considered polite to use a suppressor but the average US citizen's mind has been warped by movies and the news into believing that suppressors are only for assassins and criminals. The people who make the laws are no more immune to movie bullsh*t than anyone else so sadly this misconception has made its way into firearms regulations. You can still buy a suppressor in most states but it can be a lot of trouble. Many people don't even know that they're legal and if anyone happened to use a suppressed firearm in self-defense you can bet the courts would hold it against them.

An interesting side note about silencers in a few countries that have more restrictive gun laws than we do silencers are common. Not really considered a big deal.

Silencers are illegal. Certain states will issue licenses for the autos, but if you can afford and get one, you gotta figure someone`s gonna be watchin ya!!!

From a class three dealer if your state allows them. You have to register with the BATFE, and it costs $200 per item.

If you've got the correct licensing and things to own them,there are class three dealers.Where I don't know.And I'm sure the license is expensive.

As far as I know, both are illegal. You would have to check your local laws about the autos though.
