"WHAT'S THE ZIP CODE?" She'd never introduced herself to me, never said hi before, nothing.. she just snottily asked me the zip code and asked in such a way that I should hurry up and tell her. What would you have said or done? I told her the zip code and she didn't even say thanks. I thought that was very rude!

Just a side note, I always try to welcome new neighbors, but this was the first time I'd seen her, so I had no prior chance to welcome her.

She also likes to steal my parking spot, which is assigned by the landlord.

You did the right thing no need to start something over nothing, but it would have hit me in the wrong way to. I really dislike rude people, I ride the bus and run into so many rude people on there it isn't funny i get home in a bad mood alot, People just don't seem to have manners anymore the men don't even let women go first or give their seat up anymore it really does suck..Well have a great holiday hun Bye Deb

Forget the zip code thing, it's childish to waste your time thinking about that. The parking space is more important. Leave a note the next, and then report her to the apartment manager, and block her in if possible. I did that once, they had to beg me to move my car in the middle of the night, and I took my time getting dressed to do it. They NEVER took my spot again.

Wow, she must have been having a bad day! I think I would have taken the Jimmy Stewart approach and tried to be oh so pleasant.
Personally I believe we treat others (to some extent) how to treat us. With that in mind I would have made sure to say "why, you're very welcome!" before turning to walk away.
In doing this with out an attitude I would not only have out classed her but I would have laid a great foundation for future interactions.

That was rude of her, I'd probably tell her that she's parking in my assigned parking area and she's going to have to move her car. She's probably a redneck that thinks her s--t don't stink. The next time she ask me something I'd say '' I don't know" or give her the wrong info.

Is she a foreigner? Some foreigners haven't learned our common practices yet. And other people think that they don't want to bug others with unnecessary small talk. Or, she could just have been in a hurry.

sounds kinda b i t c h y to me...i guess i would overlook the first part...but if she is stealing your parking spot, she's got to know better...especially if they are assigned by the landlord..leave her a pleasant note, and if she keeps it up...kick her a s s....just kidding...i know how it can be...rude people can really ruin your day...i often wonder what hole people just crawled out of...good luck

I would give her the zip code, then said "your welcome" (even tho she didn't thank you) and then ignore her for the rest of the time you live there. Sounds like she doesn't have any social skills so why bother.

I would have looked at her and said:
"Hi, my name is *. That's my spot you like to park in. Next time you park there I'll have the manager tow your car. Have a great life".
and never turn around unless she calls you a b*tch - then I would have slapped her.

I would have told her to look in the phone book or go on the Internet and look it up. I have no idea. Sounds as though you have some really ignorant neighbors. God bless****

reasonable doubt. Maybe she was on the phone ordering something for xmas. Next time, be taller and introduce yourself and forcing her to do the same. Unless you don't care about meeting your neighboor which is normal.
