Thou shalt not kill, love your neighbor as you love yourself....ring any bells?

I think I hit a sore spot with softspot.
Don't take anything here personally....I am just posing questions that come to mind. I think all religious people have thier right to believe whatever they believe....and I am not trying to convert anyone to athieism. Actually I believe in a higher power, one that thinks we all count. Some of you just get it in your minds that all of us should believe what you believe. That is why wars happen.

Just to be fair to the true ones, I don't consider them Christians.

Wait! Did the Pope or other religious leaders say something I missed? But, by your logic, everyone in the military is going to hell from defending your rights, freedom, and family, from oppressors. Well If I'm going to hell for doing what's right then I'll step up. As for the War in Iraq specificlywe are their for a porpuse and the main goal is not acheived yet. Was it a mistake to go? maybe, but the point is that WE ARE THERE, and we better finish the job or we don't deserve that others have died for.

Its important to keep in mind what the motive is for killing someone. Just cold blooded murder is wrong, but in self defense it isn't. If it wasn't for this war, the people of Iraq would be living under the dictarship and could be killed at anytime. We will be saving more lives in the long run because of the war

Yet David was the man most loved by God...a man after his own heart I believeGod said. His punishment for his bloodshed was to not be able to build the temple....not going to hell. The Bible never says you will go to hell for fighting in a war. And seriously...if you don't support the war at least supposrt the troops.

We are saved by Grace through Faith in Christ Jesus...

I dont know if the war is justified by God or not, God justified many wars in the Old Testament so it's possible. Regardless... my salvation doesn't depend on my opnion of the war, just Jesus.

Nobody goes to hell: it's a fiction. It does not require a lot of intelligence to determine that the Iraq war is a necessary evil.

okay, you obviously don't know any of your facts. i'm not going to explain it to you because you probably won't care anyway.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

If they truly accept God and Jesus in their life, they will go to heaven...the war in Iraq doesn't determine the heaven & hell standards.

Real Christians do not support war in Iraq, in fact we do not support any kind of war.

If they don't ask for forgiveness, sounds right to me.

Looks like they first need to feel some sense of *responsibility* for the war. Something they clearly refuse to do.

It also looks like many of them have a Jesus free pass to killing women and children. Must be nice to be able to completely ignore the consequences of your own actions.
