You do not need a model number.
The card you are looking for is a SD card
Witch maker you use is up to you the Sandisk Ultra II is one of the fastest but also one of the most expensive.
The Panasonic and Tos SD cards are also good.
A very very fast card that is not expensive is Transcend SD (What I use)
Kingston are also cheaper and good.cards.
The Nikon is a 4.0 Mega-pixels camera so on a 256 Mb SD card you will get 64 pictures on a 512 Mb SD card you will get 130 pictures on a 1GB SD card you will get 260 pictures.

The cameras use Secure Digital memory cards, and I recommend a 256MB card as a good starting point.
Otherwise known as SD Cards. Sandisk is a great maker of SD cards.

It uses a Secure Digital card, or SD card. You can get those anywhere, online, Wal-Mart, camera store, literally anywhere. Personally, I like Sandisk. If you go to newegg.com, you can get a 1 Gigabyte card for $25. And be sure to check out dpreview.com it's the best place for info and reviews of digital cameras. It's where I found out what kind of card your camera uses.

Its the 1inch with the help of 0.5 inche one. desire this helps. in spite of the indisputable fact that it ought to assert on your guide thingy.

I have a Nikon CoolPix 4600 in my HAND right now. You can use ANY brand of SD ("Secure Digital") memory card. You will be satisfied with anything 256 MB or over, so just choose your price point and buy it.
Sandisk and Lexar come bundled with image recovery software that you copy onto your computer before you format the card. I am sure that the cards all pretty much perform the same, but these brands have a lifetime warranty for some of their products, so that makes me think they are built to higher standards.
Here are a few that I recommend. You can also buy Viking, Kingston, etc. but I prefer these brands.
Lexar has the best bang for the buck, as they have a rebate on their higher speed cards (60X) right now:
