I want the best haircut i can get but i just don't know what it should look like. I'm afraid of getting a screw up to show to the world and i just can't find the right picture for the haircut. If i go to a hairstyller and i say "can you make me look good" will he be able to do it with out a picture of what i want. what should i do.

look in a women's fashion magazine, and there are pictures of actors and celebrities that the readers of the magazine consider "hot". look in People magazine or something like that. look at the haircuts on the men, and if you like one, bring the picture to your hair stylist. they can match the cut. that way, you look good, and you know all the girls agree!

First of all, there are bound to be many hairstyles that will look good on you.
Right now the trends are longer layered looks reminiscent of the 80's, also, bobs are really making a strong comeback and almost anyone can wear a bob as it can be cut in different ways to suit you.
You need to decide how much time you want to spend each day doing your hair. Do you like short hair? Long hair?
It will be unfair for you to go to a stylist and have her give you a look she thinks looks good, (and it probably will if you go to someone experienced), but it will look weird to you because you're not used to it. Keep trying to find photos of several styles you like and bring those in, along with an idea of the time you spend and how much product you want to use each day.
Are you willing to get a color change?
So yes, a stylist can certainly give you a makeover, but you need to be prepared to look different and not panic.

You should study your hair carefully to determine the forms your hair take, because if a person can have a particular hairstyle, it doesn't mean you too can have it, and if needed, take only take advice from a hairstylist. From what I see you pretty much adjust your appearances to appeal to the eyes of other, rather than your own pleasantry, which is not good to maintain a healthy mind.

I'm a barber, and if you came to me and said can you make me look good I'd probably reply " I cut hair, not perform miracles"
Seriously, a good stylist will chat first, suss out you and your hair and you should be able to reach a choice your both happy with. a picture can help but sometimes it hinders as the client may not be able to 'wear' that style well, and the best stylist in the world (me!) would not be able to achieve it.

buy a magazine of somesort then find a hairstyle you like ask your hairdreeser whether he can do it.

yes the hairstylist will know what to do, they will look at your facial features to cut your hair to suet you, and if it doesn't, hair grows back, don't worry.
