Well they hug me too! And as for the guy who doesn't like cats and thinks they arn't large enough, mine are over 24 pounds and are tall enough to do dishes. Since they swipe the food so easily off my kitchen sink covertly, they may as well do the dishes too.
I love my cats as much as I love my dog and horse.
One day, and I will never forget it, my Maincoon (for all of you who doesn't know what that is, it is a cat with attitude big enough to get them their own zip code) Munchkin who has been my pal for 6 years was listening to me cry.
It was actually sobbing out to God to give me strength to endure that day. Actually it was night. I remember praying for a sign from God that He was at least listening to me and Munchkin reached out and gently kept softly touching my cheek where my tears were, he did this for about 30 min.
I felt an overwhelming sence of peace and he then curled his paws around my neck and went to sleep. That is the ONLY time he has ever dont that particular thing. I will never forget it as long as I live.
He was also going through liver failure when I was a Medical Director at a boy scout camp at a nearby lake and he had to be with me every day for intensive treatment.
A boy who was going through the last stages of liver failure was there too. He hung out with Munchkin the whole week. They palled around and every picture I have of them is together. His mom cried when she came up because her son had found a friend going through the same thing as himself. It was a priveledge to know that boy and a blessing to have Munchkin and my other cats. I can never hug them enough, give enoug kisses, play enough or thank them enough for all they have given me.
Thanks for your question.

I only hug my cats when I'm with them on the weekends but when they are there I do all the time. I think cats are better than most people.

Of course! I love my pets and hug and kiss them every single day so they always know I do. My youngest cat and my dog know that first thing in the morning they get hugged and kissed and run to me with heads bowed. =)
