Europe right now would be a radioactive wasteland. If the Soviets had sent the anticipated waves of armor into the Volga gap, we would have been forced to either use battlefield nukes within 12 hours or surrender.

The U.S. would have won. The proof as already played out. The threat of the USSR was all fake, to build up industry in this country. The USSR was BIG, but weak.
The USSR tried for 10 years to invade Afghanistan and failed and went home to lick their wounds. The U.S. pounded Afghanistan into the ground in days. If the U.S. and the USSR would really have gone at it, the USSR would have fallen just the same. Under.
No nuclear war though. Do a little research and find the meaning of M.A.D. protocol, as applied to nuclear war. Our country, being the U.S. will never use such a weapon.

Certainly, the USSR would have won, they were militarily and technologically more advanced than the US. The US were economically better of, but during an all out war, the superior weaponry, size and more advance technology of the soviets would of annihilated the US.

Everyone would have lost big time. With nuclear weapons going off in our environment, just how much damage would the atmosphere go through? Then those that survive have to live through the aftermath which is not going to be fun and games. It is going to be hell, and without functioning Malls.

I would hope the US. And the US would probably "win". But, if you had a war as devestating as that and some how we avoided the use of WMDs, there wouldn't be much left to boast about.
