God is not an entity as a human being. It is a source of power... such colossal power that Bhagavad Gita, the sacred doctrine put forward by Lord Krishna gives the Definition God as, "the sum total of all the purified souls atmans in the Cosmos at any given point of time" and this reduces to a paltry half the size of a thumb. Yes, the size of God is half the size of a thumb at the beginning of every Cosmos.
Most of us suffer one-day or the other. Such instances make even the strongest follower of God loose patience and subsequently faith in the system of God. We feel absolutely helpless for we cannot even blame God for our sufferings. We do not desire criticizing God yet; we feel that even God did not care for us.
What causes such an untoward happening ... as we find those committing heinous crimes in the society leading a happy life. Of all the people ... why only we suffered in the hands of God?
In this life ... I may not have caused even the most trivial of sins ... or even garnered a feeling of ill will towards one ... yet, I lost my dear one ... one whom we loved so much. Why does this happen ... what is that fundamental of God, which makes our world go round and round. More here- http://www.godrealized.com/god.html and http://www.vijaykumar.com/why_do_we_suffer.html

Even if I never understand what He's doing it's irrelevant. He's God. I'm not. He is looking on all of us and all circumstances from an outside view. How much easier is it to call the play in a football game when you're watching it from the comfort of your own recliner at home? It's much more difficult to call the play and then execute it when you're right there in the middle of the action. We yell for the player to run this way or that because we SEE the other guy coming to tackle him. From his perspective he can't see it.
Something to consider....how many school shootings did we have prior to the removal of prayer in schools? How many have we had since the removal of prayer? God will not interfere where He is not wanted. We ALL therefore suffer the consequences of the poor decisions of the ones placed in charge - even the innocent.
It seems to me like we would wake up and run TO Him rather than FROM Him.

Men, if you ever find your self in a situation where you don't see an immediate scape to your miseries, you will hold on to any type fantasy to keep your sanity. The mind has like a safety valve that let it scape reality when pain and hopelessness is over the limit, just like you loose consciousness when physical pain is to high. Some times the mind creates like a temporary bobble when confronted with problems, some people are not able to come out on time and they also get lost in there. I believe if there's a God he is indifferent to humans problems. Not even those who believes to be his chosen people can say he cares much about them, they history proves other wise. Of course, they will and they have come up with a lot of rubbish as excuses.

Take this from an atheist, if you have questions for Christians just read the bible, they are just going to quote it. It is not possible to have a true debate with a Christian because they have accepted the Bible as a work of authority and it is the last word. This goes for Judaism and Muslim-ism (they have more books though).
I'm only a degree more an atheist than I am an agnostic. If a god does exist it probably wouldn't care about ethics of man.

Why believe we are not alone in the universe and why believe in basic goodness. Well I start with the fact that we are here, then I realize we did not create ourselves and I realize that life is pretty good.
So I conclude God made us and that he is good.
My inner experience is that God is there and I can talk to him and he gives me answers. Others says their inner experience is different to mine. So be it. I also experience many but not all claim to have a sense of God. Others have a sense of something being there.
Where are you looking when you say, he doesn't care? People are born, people are feed, it rains, the sun shines. Of course if people are greedy and do not share, then others will miss out. We have a responsibility in God plan, are we doing our bit or leaving it all up to God?

we understand what he is doing because we know that in the end that he will give us what we rightfully deserve. we no that he is alowing these thing to happen because he does not want us to become dependent on him for help. these events go on because he is showing us that we are our own worst enemy. for every single person who dies there are are thousands of people saved at the same exact time. either a new child is born or an older child is saved. to simply answer this question, i do not know exactly why hes doing these things, but i do know that if he lets something happen then he believes that it should happen.

because, even though the world may not be in the best shape, there is still the individual care that he shows to all of us in little ways you may not expect and are to stuborne to see. 4 years ago, my father was given less than a statistical one percent chance to live if a certin open heart procedure were to take place successfully. it didnt go well and the procedure was a filiure, now, four years later and many many many prayers later, hes doin damn fine and one other reason why people like your self dont see gods help is because you dont beleve and inorder to recieve, you must believe, and you non believers will not be saved when the day comes for all to resurect and go to heaven. your sins weigh you down and you will sink straight to hell.

I feel you, Red Eye....Seems like if there's a God, He just does things, and has no concept of Good, Bad, Evil, Pain, Pleasure....It's like the weather, it doesn't care if you're sad, it will still rain....It will flood rich or poor without discrimination....Sun shines on some, regardless of their acts, positive or negative....

God is different to each person. It's kind of like having an imaginary friend, very comforting to those who are scared to be alone. Also, how many times have you gotten into a fight with an imaginary friend?
