So my understanding of the situation is that, it is the devil's job to try to get people to become unbelievers. My question is, does it bother the devil if people don't believe in him? I'm guessing it doesn't but I just wanted to ask.

I do not want answers from people telling me it doesn't matter because none of them exist. Frankly I'm agnostic and those answers don't help me in the least. I'm just asking this question because I'd like to know what believers think on this subject.
Thanks.

I don't think it bothers Satan at all if people do not believe in him.

If you don't believe in Satan, then you don't believe in what is taught in the Bible, and therefore are not a Christian. Therefore, you'll go to Hell.

There's a saying that goes something like:
Satan's greatest achievment was to make man believe he doesn't exist.

The Bible describes Satan as being full of wisdom! He is certainly smart enough to have people believing that he doesn't exist so that he can keep everyone from believing in the Lord. He has the ability to present a situation so that is appears to be candy coated but conceals the fact that underneath the coating there is poison! For a really good description of Satan, read Ezekiel Ch.28 V13-19 and remember it will be him during the tribulation who will give power to a statue and cause it to speak so that the people will hail him as God as he also has the power to work miracles too!

I think you have a fascinating question. Here's my opinion- take it any way you like, just wish to share my thoughts.

I don't think there is a "devil "- it is just a word utilized to instill fear for better behavior and moralizing rights from wrongs. Religion has nothing to do it- if one can seriously study this and ask, "What if ", let's close our eyes and manifest positive from negative. Does this make sense?
I guess what I'm saying, is that if someone doesn't believe in the devil, doesn't make them more or less educated. We as humans have a mind and a brain, the notion of a "devil" is the equivalent to asking someone if there is a Santa Clause. We make our own decisions based on belief and comfortability.

Permit me to correct you. Don't put God in a side and the Devil in the other side, because God created the devil for a purpose.
if you think that the devil can have the same power as God, you are completely wrong. it can't be.
if you think that there is 2 gods, one good one evil, you completely missed it.
Your question about if the people disbelieving in the devil , does it bother him?
no, because his role is to mislead people to worship others than God. worshiping the devil will be fine for him because this is what he wants. but know that in the Quran God says << the devil in the day of judgment, will come to free himself from all the ones he mislead. he will tell the people of the hellfire: I didn't push you or force you to do so, but I just suggested (whispered) and you obeyed, I am free from what you believe because I believe in one God. and he will be thrown in the hellfire with them >>
note: this is my own translation. the real translation from the Quran is stronger.

I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for but...

The devil's job is to tempt people and try to stop them from turning to Jesus Christ, yes. I don't think he'd be bothered by the fact that you don't believe in him because he can still hurt you. People might not blame it on him, but it's still his work. It's really only after you become a Christian that his power can be weakened.

The devil is extremely glad to have people not believe in him. Scripture tells us the devil is a roaring lion seeking souls to devour. A predator is at his best advantage if the intended prey doesn't know he is around, and what better situation than attacking prey that doesn't even believe you exist! No defenses. Sitting ducks!

If one believes that Satan doesn't exist it's in Satan's favor. For example if a believer gets an different thought or feeling that 's out of the ordinary, they immediately think is this of God or Satan, good or Bad. If the same thing happens to someone who doesn't believe in Satan, there is no good or bad, so there is no wrong choice, unless there's is a potential of personally getting hurt or caught. even still that doesn't stop some people.

Not only that, those that don't believe in Satan, don't believe in sin, and therefore the only BAD things are the illegal ones that get you in jail. Not to mention there is no good either. So there must not be a God (really bad). Not to mention Free will choices are even more limited, if not given up completely.

I'm not sure about that, but if I were the Devil and I knew people didn't believe in me, I might be PO'ed. On the other hand, I'd be happy if they weren't a Judeo-Christian or Muslim.

Based on the Bible, I would say that the devil would only want whatever is worst for the main deity and mankind.
