because they are dull and dont have minds of their own...they get nervous and say the first thing that comes to them. they lack originality.

everyone knows that if you come up with a good enough line, it doesnt matter if you look like the elephant man... a girl will still want to sleep with you.

don't judge them till you have worked beside him all day NS AEE FOR YOURSELF WHAT HE DOES IN THE LINE OF A DAY BEFORE HE GIVES YOU THE TIREDASSED LINES . GIVE HIM A LITTLE SPACE , DON'T TRY TO CONTROL HIM. IF HE'S GIVEN YOU REASON TO DOUT HIM . TRUST HIM . IF NOT GET AWAY AND OUT OF THE REALATIONSHIP. Answer; "STOP!"
Reason why guys use them. they are afraid of looking stupid so they use lines they see and others tell them.
Jack Nickolson played a psych doctor and told his patient who wanted to talk to a very attractive woman;
"just go up to her and say 'when I see you I explode in my pants.'
Of course it worked in the movie. I can imagine the response in reality. It would not be good.

Idiocy and/or social ineptitude is my guess.
I only speak for myself, and guess for others. I insist that I never use lines like that, unless I'm not serious; and even then I don't use them on strangers.
