Yes and no.
Blood type inheritance is pretty simple and pretty well worked out. So it is usually just a matter of calculation to figure out the possible genes that the parents may have and figure what the child may have.
Or, in other words, it is possible for SOME children to have SOME different blood types from their parents. But with a few exceptions, most children are limited to less than all possible blood types, and some are limited to only one by the choices.
For example, O type is recessive. If both parents had one O gene, you might never know. So mom could be A, dad could be B, and the child could be O. Or AB. Or any of the types, really.
By the same token, if both parents are O, then junior WILL be O. It's far more likely that mom was unfaithful than junior is a mutant. (Though I should mention that the mutant scenario is not impossible, just ridiculously unlikely)

YES, it happens all the time, for example, in these mating situations:
1. Two AB blood type parents CAN have a B or A blood type child.
2. Two A blood type parents CAN have an O blood type child.
3. Two B blood type parents CAN have an O blood type child.
4. An AB parent and an O parent CAN have an A or B blood type child.
5. An A parent and a B parent CAN have an O or AB blood type child.
6. Two Rh+ parents can have an Rh- child.
However, the following is true in these mating situations:
1. Two AB blood type parents CAN NOT have an O blood type child.
2. Two A blood type parents CAN NOT have a B or AB blood type child.
3. Two O blood type parents CAN NOT have a B, A or AB blood type child.
4. Two B blood type parents CAN NOT have an A or AB blood type child.
5. An AB blood type parent CAN NOT have an O blood type child, ever.
6. An O blood type parent CAN NOT have an AB blood type child, ever.
7. An A parent and an O parent CAN NOT have a B or AB blood type child.
8. An O parent and a B parent CAN NOT have an A or AB blood type child.
9. An AB parent and an O parent CAN NOT have an AB or O blood type child.
10. Two Rh- parents can not have an Rh+ child.
There are two very interesting mating in:
1. Two O- blood type parents MUST have an O- blood type child, no matter what!
2. An A+ parent and a B- parent can have a child with any of the blood types, and also has the possibility of having either an Rh+ or Rh- child (but can sometimes only produce Rh+ children, depending on the genetics of the Rh+ parent)

It can be possible, but only with certain blood types. If you have a dominant blood type, such as A, you could have an A gene and an o gene, but the A is dominant. As a result, if both parents have, for example, Ao and Bo, the child could have type o blood.

Yes, it is possible that they will not have the same blood type as either natural parent. Blood types change when they are combined.

I know that there's a lot of room for variation. For example, my mom is o-, while my father is ab+, and mine is b+. Not the same as either, but still a possible result.

Certainly. My brother doesn't have our mother's or father's and the doctors didn't believe our dad was his father. Funny thing is, my brother looks exactly like him.
