Both diet and care make a difference in the condition of your hair.
My grandparents were really into health food type stuff and they
encouraged me to take alfafa tablets and another supplement called horsetail. But the thing that they told me about that
makes the biggest difference in the shininess of my hair is
the vinegar rinse. All you need is to mix apple cider vinegar
with water 50/50 in a small bottle or empty shampoo
bottle and keep it with your shampoo/ conditioner where you
bathe. After you shampoo and before you condition, apply
some of the mixture and rinse thru your hair. This removes
the build up from the shampoo and leaves your hair squeaky
clean and shiny. Condition after as usual. It really does make
a noticible change in you hair. people don't realize that
shampoos leave a residue that builds up and dulls your hair.
You could buy an expensive product that removes the build up
but vinegar works just as well and costs a lot less.

I think both. I've always believed Pantene products are awesome! They leave your hair healthy, shiny and smooth--much better than other hair products (believe me, since I have long hair, I've tried them all.) I heard vitamin E also helps, but I believe the most important factor for a healthy hair is NOT TO BLOW DRY IT.

I have a long hair and never once use blow dryer to dry my hair. That thing will kill your hair slowly. If need to be dried right away, use fans.

I have a family friend that is in her 60's and has thick shiny long movie star hair and her secret she swears by is mayonnaise and then wrapping it up in a towel for about an hour then rinse. Her hair is shiny and never looks dry or greasy.

A heallthy diet, which effects your entire body, definitely effects the health of your hair. Taking a vitamin can always help the strength of your hair.... as well as conditioning and oil treatments. A lot of people don't think about how unhealthy it is for their hair when they don't eat healthy but a balanced amount of minerals can not only help your skin appearance but also your hair.
