No, you will need
an HD DVD player to
play those. I'm sure, if the
format catches on, there will be
universal optical players that will play
all main-stream formats. Until then, we
have to choose which format we will be using.

No, they it will not work as regular DVD players will not be able to decode the picture ( information) that is coming from the hd DVD. The information is different and a lot more complex than of a regular DVD.
