Looking at the commercials for the new LS...I wonder should you actually be driving if you are not competent to park a car?

As an engineer, I wonder, if I built a machine to wipe people @ss'es, would they buy that too?

I know a lot of companies require gimmicks to move a product, but after driving a friends 2005 LS 430(I own a MBZ, and a 911), I felt I needed Prozac, the car was so depressing to drive. Perfect for driving at 6/10 th's, but don't look for any fun-factor.

My thing about this whole thing is this: Most people that will buy this car live in places where u have to parallel park. I think it is a great idea to have this, I hate when someone doesn't know how to park and they end up hitting ur car. At least now they have help, the only problem is, is that u still have to stop the car urself.

It's not a standard option on the car either. There is also the "Hold" feature, if ur at a red light, hit the hold button and u can take ur foot off the brake.

The LS 460 is a lot better than the LS 430. How can u compare a sports car to a luxury sedan?

In almost 20 years of driving, the only time I had to parallel park was on my driving test. Just because I might have problems doing that now, does not mean I'm an incompetent driver, or a bad driver. It just means I don't have to parallel park a lot.

I think its a awesome selling point, it just means I can be more lazy than I already am and when I plow into someones car, since were a sue happy nation and americans refuse to take responsibility for anything we do, I can sue Lexus for saying it can park itself. I think Lexus might be asking for trouble with this one.

Some people have more money than they know what to do with. Its interesting enough, i suppose, but not a very practical gimmick.
