I've made up my mind, I am going to quit high school and go to community college. I have my parents support(both of them did the same thing), but I have no idea how to go about doing so. I can not get my GED yet, for I am not 18. I can't get my high school diploma equivalency because the test is not until late next year. My parents can't help because things have changed since they were in my position. Any pointers? (please dont tell me not to quit)

I understand your good intentions, but you dont know the half of the factors that have led me to this point. I must repeat myself, please do not tell me not to quit or the ever so cliche, "stay in school". thank you.

dual enrollment is prob. your best option. that's where you enroll in college classes and this will give you college and high school credits at the same time. i'm doing something similar.
best of luck!

If you are mature enough and have reached a certain age (which you have) I more than agree that a High school education is not mandatory. (Hence you are a mature Person who is 16 or over)
I myself did not complete high school and am a college graduate.
Both of my brothers are University graduates and are absolutely against not completing high school, however I am proof that high school drop outs are not complete failures. ( I am also the black sheep of the family lol )
All joking aside... my suggestion for you would be to find a job for a year since you are not able to obtain your GED. I am not sure where you are from (I am from Canada and to enter a college you need to be of 18 years/or high school or equivalent depending on what course/program you are taking, you obviously cannot take a nursing course for example without a Highschool diploma) I am under the impression that you are from the States and I know minimum wage is quite low there but since you've made the firm decision then look for work. A year will pass by quickly. I am against some private colleges, however a suggestion would be to look into them (make sure you do your research), perhaps you can learn a skilled trade or get into a program of your interest.
Good luck in your endeavours, you have the support of your family and that is all that matters. Do not listen to anyone who will put you or your judgement down!
But please just remember that times have changed, it's not like it was when our parents were young. It's not that easy and you must remain focused.

Girl, you need to stick it out and I know you dont want to hear this. I was the same way, I couldnt wait to get out of high school! All my peers were annoying and immature and I had had it. But running away is not the answer. And going to college at 16 or 17 is not the answer either. People are going to be older and more mature than you and youll wind up not fitting in. So I suggest you stick it out, talk to a counselor or principal even if you need to, apply for colleges early, junior year, so when you get that early acceptance letter you can say, "Yes! Im getting the hell out of here in a year!" I know it helped me. Take care hun, and I hope everything works out in the end.

they're training you for the real worldwide. And telling somebody to enhance up isn't impolite. surely, you're appearing infantile via responding to that. A mature guy or woman might purely permit it flow. Its extreme college. no person's going to care approximately what you think of in college. You the two arise or you do no longer. The professors do no longer likely care. i've got long previous to mattress at 2 AM and gotten up at 6:50 and nonetheless went to college. and that i'm 15. Its somewhat no longer a huge deal. no person needs to stand up that early, incredibly no teenager. yet are they going to alter it? no longer likely. in case you put off college till 10:30, you would be at school till around 5:00. In iciness, its already darkish via 5. somewhat some human beings ought to stroll homestead from college. walking homestead at evening isn't risk-free. incredibly for youthful women. hence, there's a good reason college starts early. And in case you have a issue with it, I recommend you're taking it up with the sunlight because of the fact the universities have not have been given any administration over that.

I don't think you get it? I don't think you get it so much that you will never get a diploma, GED, equivalency, or take one single class at community college? You can't just skip over a step, you have to finish one step before you can move ahead. Genius kids don't skip grades and go on to college, they pass everything everyone else does, but faster.

I don't believe you can since you need one of those two things, or really good test scores on the ACT or SAT, they might let you in on those alone but you'll be better off if you have something equivillant of a GED/High School Diploma.

As far as I know colleges require a high school diploma or GED.
What do people do when they are homeschooled? Maybe you should look into that option.

for my h.s if you took enough courses you could graduate early. Some h.s let you take community college courses, it really depends on your school. Also most colleges require you have a h.s diploma.

get a scholoarship by being very very brillant in something. you can quit, because its your choice, but you shouldn't, because firstly you havent sat for any of the tests, and secondly, high school is a nice place to be, esp with your friends!
